Outlive Your Life ~ A BookSneeze Review

Image
It is time for another BookSneeze Book Review, fellow readers! After much soul-searching and stops and starts I am satisfied with what I have learned from reading this book and feel that I can give it a terrific review. It might not be a long review but I don't think this fabulous book needs a lot of wordiness to prompt others to read it. ****************************** This book has taught me to be content in my ordinariness. Sometimes I have felt that God is not using me...but then I look around me and see things changing that I never thought would change; or find that I am giving advice that I never thought I would give simply because the opportunity arose and I took it. After reading Outlive Your Life I found myself LOOKING for chances to do things that would help spread the word about my God and for ways that I could positively impact others around me. For a few years I was very sad that I wasn't called to be part of my church's worship team. BUT shortly after re

A Different Point of View

I RESCUED A HUMAN TODAY         Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels.  I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.  I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid.  As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage.  I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today.  Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.  As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past.  I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life.  She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me.  I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship.  A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well  Soon m

Angel Song ~ A BookSneeze Review

I absolutely adored this book. Uplifting Christian fiction is what I tend to read the most and this one was just stunning. It really caused me to pause and think about what the effect would be on my loved ones if I died unexpectedly...but wait, I'm getting a little ahead of myself.  Angel Song  written by Sheila Walsh (Women of Faith speaker and very accomplished author) and Kathryn Cushman (Work at Home mom but also has a pharmaceutical degree)is one of those rare books where the setting is described is so beautifully and fully that it can almost transport the reader right to the heart of a place. The descriptions of Charleston in this novel do just that: the houses are described in such fascinating detail you can see them in your mind just as if you are standing in front of them in person.  The story itself is at times heart-warming, such as the scene where Anne is flying to Charleston to celebrate her little sister's college graduation at the start of the book and you can

A little trip in the Wayback Machine

Good Evening! I spent the early part of the morning putting the final touches on the menu for the week of the 27th and then I drafted the menu for the week after that. We've got a couple long days coming up with a trip to Biddeford for the almost 16 year old's braces to come off on Monday, a field trip to the Maine State Museum which will probably get rescheduled because of another storm coming in Tuesday to Wednesday, and volunteering at the animal shelter on Thursday. Anyway, the reason I am writing this entry is because I was searching for a specific video on YouTube this morning, and came across something else that really lifted my spirits-a compilation video of Jamba, Jamster here in the US, videos. I subscribed to Jamster on my cell phone back in the day and I just adore the vids. Josh, my 16 yr old son, was really crazy for "Sweety," who's a cute yellow canary that just loves to bust a move. The compilation features a whole plethora of Jamba char
