I ♥ Characters

Another Thursday, another great prompt from  Dani @ Perspective of a Writer  and this week we were asked to share:   An OTP Embodying Your Favorite Romance Trope   My favorite trope is the return to hometown  trope. I love  these type of stories and have ever since I discovered it. Whether its the male or female protagonist returning to their roots makes no difference to me. I love the type where they return for a specific reason and don't intend to stay but then their eyes get opened (or re-opened) to the charm and loveliness and all  the wonderful things that make their hometown unique, as they fall in love, and then they decide to stay. Or if they do leave, they miss it (or their love interest) so much they have  to return.  The first story of this type I ever read was Whirlwind  from the Welcome to Tyler  series published by Harlequin Romance in the early 90's. I  believe I was 11 when the book came in the mail for my mom, but the cover intrigued me and I casuall

It's been a crazy, but exhilarating week

I am so, so incredibly sorry to NOT have posted at all this past week. First, the flu hit. Bad. I haven't been as sick as I was in years. Thanks be to God, literally, for my parents and semi-independent teen daughters this week because ALL I could do was lay in bed, and for two days straight sleep. I vaguely recall shuffling downstairs to the ONLY bathroom in our house a couple times the second day but that was it. Blessedly it didn't really hit til Tuesday, because I had a terrific job interview with The Old Schoolhouse  to become part of their advertising sales team and today I am thrilled to share I received an email formally inviting me to accept the position, which I did!! This magazine has been such a HUGE blessing to me for so very many years and I can't say enough great things about them. Sooo, without further delay, we are on to: Tonight's temptation is so simple yet so incredibly versatile and yummy I have  to share it. This week for our local sch

~~~ TOP 5 TUESDAY ~~~
This month of Top 5 Tuesday with Shanah at Bionic Book Worm  is going to be so incredibly fun for me and my girls. We're all Potterheads, so we're loving the Harry Potter theme. This week it's time to highlight Ravenclaw House and I'm going to share some characters from outside the Potterverse that I feel would 100% be sorted into Ravenclaw if they were characters created by J.K. Rowling.  Alice from Alice in Wonderland . No, I don't specifically mean a Disney Alice, or American McGee's Alice, but the OG Alice from Lewis Carroll's 1865 novel . She's curious, inquisitive, and a total individual. Definite Ravenclaw. Buy Matilda Here Matilda to me just screams Ravenclaw. She's super smart and very witty as well. She does things that no one would really think her capable of (bleaching her father's hair? reading almost an entire library of books? moving stuff with her mind?!? ). Yup, the epitome of Ravenclaw.  Get your own copy of H
Welcome to the FIRST Tasty Tuesday!
Hi, hello, I am so incredibly excited for this post. I shared on Sunday, and again yesterday, that I was going live with my first ever blog meme that I am personally hosting, called...drum roll please... Very simple and easy to follow, just pick something food related to write about. Really, that's it. Share a family favorite recipe. Share something you want to try, either something you want to cook yourself or even something you saw on a menu or cooking show that really got your tastebuds going. It doesn't have to be something you cooked this week, it doesn't have to be something you cooked at all. Is it hot where you are? Have you been craving iced or frozen coffee drinks or fruity yumminess? Do you live in a place, like me, where lately the air hurts your face it is SO cold, and you have a go-to hot beverage or yummy soup that warms you right up? Share those kinds of things!! Were you a Frappuccino addict once and sometimes miss them (maybe you moved to a really,
TASTY TUESDAY
Won't you join me? I love to read, that is true. My other number one passion is cooking. I've gone to culinary school, went through a separate course to become a pastry chef, and actually had completed all four levels of The Wilton Method Cake Decorating School by age 12, just for fun because I wanted to learn how to do pretty stuff with frosting. Mind you, that was back in 1993 and cake decorating has come a long  way since back then. So on Tuesdays I'm going to be hosting a meme called Tasty Tuesday. Share ANYTHING food related you like. And I DO  mean absolutely anything. Share a recipe. Share a picture of something you ate while out...or even just a pic from a website of somewhere you want to go. Did you have a success in the kitchen? Plan to do try something new? Perhaps even something that didn't come out right at all and you want to vent about it and maybe get some feedback or commiseration. That's what Tasty Tuesday is all about!! So, please come joi
It's Monday, What Are You Reading? 2.11.19
Yes, ANOTHER book post. Sorry not sorry. I'm a total bookaholic. I inhale books like other people do air. So of course when I came across #IMWAYR I had  to jump on board!! Thanks Kathryn at The Book Date for hosting!! If you follow me on GoodReads then you know I have a voracious and varied book appetite. I LOVE all kinds of books and authors. I would not know how to function without my Kindle Unlimited  it makes life incredibly fun. This week I finished the 31st book in the Papa Pacelli's Pizzeria series by Patti Benning . It was incredible, as they all are. I really  hope this isn't the end of the series because I will be lost without Ellie, Russ, Nonna, Bunny, Sawyer, Marlowe and everyone else. If you love cozy mysteries, culinary mysteries, and especially both together, DEFINITELY check this series out!! I started a new to me series by another favorite author. Not cozy mysteries, these full length novels by Melinda Leigh  are spellbinding and totall
♫♪♫ Music Monday ♫♪♫
Welcome to my first ever Music Monday post! I KNOW I'm going to have a ton of fun with this each week because music is something I'm passionate about. Join the fun and find other bloggers who posted for Music Monday at Lauren's blog Always Me This week I've been reliving my teen years somewhat and really enjoyed rewatching the film 10 Things I Hate About You . This was a big fave of mine back when it came out in 1999, the year I turned 18. I've always LOVED the music in this film, and I haven't really listened to 90's rock in a long time.  Here's my top three earworms from the soundtrack to 10 Things I Hate About You Cruel to Be Kind by Letters to Cleo This is just such a fun, catchy uptempo song that I LOVE to sing along with and dance to Fascinating New Thing (FNT) by Semisonic This totally 90's sound is a love song, believe it or not. It's also by the group that recorded one of my other 90's favorite hits "
